Return to Service - RAF Laarbruch Spring 1977

Due to a critical shortage of spare parts supplied to II(AC) Sqn in 1976, the ground crew were forced to cannibalise the first aircraft to develop a major fault. Thus XZ105 became the unfotunate hanger queen, stripped of absolutely everything that could be used on another airframe. During Christmas 1976 the aircraft became the hanger Christmas Tree complete with fairy lights!

In early 1977 the supply situation was resolved and the aircraft was painstakingly rebuilt from the bare airframe up by the ground crew. The project image is the return to flight ceremony conducted by the squadron celebrating the feat.

Due to the rebuild the aircraft condition depicted will be near factory.
