BTR-70 Afghanistan
April 8, 2015Starting with some PE on the hull bottom and building the suspension.
April 11, 2015To me, the hinges on all the hatches and doors look TERRIBLE! They are the wrong style, too tall, and show gaps. They must be re-done... 🙁
April 11, 2015Here are the side doors. Gaps are filled with plastic sheet...
April 11, 2015The side doors look like they should sit lower on the frame. To do that, I have to fill near the top of the door, to avoid a gap later.
April 11, 2015Making hinges out of plastic sheet and rod.
April 11, 2015The finished side doors are installed. 🙂
April 11, 2015Now to fix the hinges on the hatches.
April 11, 2015Again, using plastic sheet and rod.
April 11, 2015Copper wire is used for the hinge spring.
April 11, 2015The top-front hatches are done. 🙂
April 13, 2015Re-worked top hatches and rear top panel.
April 13, 2015Working on rear engine panel to accomodate photoetch parts.

May 5, 2015It always amazes me how much detail a wash brings out. Haven't even dry-brushed yet...
