Since the Volvo project is waiting on some parts and the VW project is waiting on paint so I guess I will start another.

The kit had a separate small decal sheet which was not mentioned in the instructions. After examining it with a magnifying glass and a bit of googling I worked out they were logos for the wheels.

The roll cage was really fiddly but I got there in the end.

I hadn't noticed how warped the body shell was until this point. Hopefully it will twist back into shape when attached to the rest of the car.

After attaching the spoiler there was a large gap so I added some filler.

First pass at the decals, just getting the big one in place.

And the remaining decals added. Interestingly before I applied these I noticed there are some asymmetries on the car. There are a couple of extra decals which are in the kit but not actually present on this side of the car so I skipped them.

Only at this point did I realise I'd messed up the decal with the number plate. With hindsight I think the way I should have done it would have been to add the decal with the number plate then attach the boot handle and finally apply the top decal.

I fixed up the mistake as best I could with some paint. It is a bit of a mess but it'll have to do. Also after Bozzer's warnings I tried a small area of clear coat to be sure it wasn't going to damage the decals.

The kit didn't contain the aerials so I had a dig through my bag of bits to fins some suitable ones. Also the instructions were contradictory about what to do with the mirrors. After looking at some photos they are again asymmetrical.

Overall it is not the neatest but I had fun building it and am happy with it.

They are some pretty big decals I'll try to not mess them up for you 🙂

A guy did that kit on here, and it was awesome. I nearly bought the kit, just for the decals! And yes, I've done that in the past. Recently I bought a euro truck and trailer, just for the decals. I'm giving the kit to a buddy. I'm a sucker for decent decals 👍
