After couple of attempts using PE, I went for a masking tape 

So the sanded to shape styrene rods will have to do the job of lost PE parts 

As the original resin barrels are hopeless, I tried making my own 

I assume they look much better 

 

Did some spraying yesterday 

In the B&W pics red and black look the same, need to decide soon 

 

Bit of dry-fitting (engine) and it's time for the decals! 

On its own wheels and with the engine, decalling underway 

Never mask the decals 🙁 

Disaster recovery completed
