Getting started with the Aires McDonnell ejection seat. Some wire and tubing added. 

 

 

 

Aires cockpit tub looks quite nice I guess 

 

Airbreaks and arrestorhook - housing 

Molded-on rudder base structure has to be removed - 

and replaced by PE  

After glueing the „cheeks“ (slightly overengineered i.mh.o.) into position it looked like this 

30 minutes later 

Afterburner can primed and masked 

Nosegear, LSO light and landinglight added. 

 

First paint: Metalizer aluminum for the exhaust panels 

First off white underside coat laid down 

Pink base on 

 

International Orange on, masks off 

 

 

 

 

Coroguards on, insignia red for the insides of the airbrakes. Almost home  

 

 

Brakes, wheels and walkways on 

 

 

 

Decalling in progress, decals are quite a nightmare, brittle and delicate, but the endresult is not bad…. 

Washing done

Added the last finishing touches today. Calling this finally done !
