Scalemates F-14 Tomcat Group build 2020

One of the biggest jet-fighters vs one of the smallest ones (Gnat) 😄 

Something is wrong here - the instruction states the inlets should be on the starboard side, while the workaround show port side inlets... 

The fit of the nose part is not amazing. 

Same story with the fuselage/inlets front parts. Some sanding seems to solve the issue. 

Cockpit finished. 

There's a challenge to be solved somehow... 

Masked the canopy. The most problematic places marked. 

Well, not bad, however still some sanding and filling is needed here and there. 

First priming. The Phoenix rails filled with Bondic UV glue look better than expected. 

Started spraying the first translucent layers of Light Gull Gray 

Started the decalling 

Been waiting for that guy a looooong time 🙂 

It took few evenings to force the brittle old decals into submission (printed by Techmod A.D. 1992!) 

On her wheels finally! 

The last stretch - decided to skip the tanks. 

Alright, so is it at least as good as the one on the box? 

Let's see then 😄

1992 - 2022 (perhaps 1993?) I promised myself once to build it once again and here we go 🙂 

30 years apart in my modelling skills (and storage) 😉 Can I scrap the old one now?
