March 19, 2026The first time the subject of my build came to me instead af me visiting it: The ZM406 passed a few miles from my house!
March 19, 2026There was no microscope in the kit! But even the tiniest decals were legible. Very impressive!
March 19, 2026The wing is ready. So many decals. Only the engines got 172 decals!
March 19, 2026A few funny things: with two decals the text no step/walkway were reversed. No step on the inside of the wing!
March 19, 2026The wings in place. They looked good but there was quite a gap at the underside between the wing and the fuselage. I believe this was due to a slight misfit of the fuselage. But not to difficult to correct.
March 19, 2026Almost finished. Only waiting of for the glue on the landing gear to dry and then fitting the gear doors. The undercarriage is not easy to assemble. Quite complex and difficult to get all 12 wheels lined out nicely. But nobody will see the result 😉
March 19, 2026The props are very impressive.
March 20, 2026I'm thinking about fitting a prop cover like I saw at Le Bourget. Not sure how to do this, but I have some ideas.
March 19, 2026It really filled my desk!
March 19, 2026A beauty and a beast.
March 19, 2026I had a complete shelf empty in the attic to put the A-400 together with four Hercules. But the tail was too tall, it didn't fit at all. So I moved a 1/24 Fw190 and a Mustang to the attic and the A-400 has a place in my study. Not a bad place with good company.
