An 24RV with self made Decals

The AeroSvit/CS Airforce kit, will try to make the AFL811 plane in Soviet Aeroflot's 1973 livery 

Basic shapes with lots of putty and filler base before adding transparent glazing. 

After adding the glazing using the KV masks. 

Preliminary blue band (wrong design!) but to get the placement of windows.

Printing on transfer foil and secured with enamel clear varnish. 

After transfer of the cheatline - note many scratches in the unprotected acrylic gray (Valejo Air Model)... luckily the real AFL An-24s were pretty beat up as well! 

At scalpel tip there are An-24RV Labels (font is 2.5pt=0.88mm) and the outline inversion white !'s

Some fictional 2000s style Aeroflot livery Soviet flag is also included... for another project 

Miss-measured anti-glare black. The missing 3mm will be filled with scratch parts 

Demo print on photo paper - the black is printed in white on transfer paper 

Placed the little white ! For the inverted outlines at doors. White toner looks good. 

Design in Illustrator - a lot is repeating and not very compact... but as it is experimentation for myself, i dont need to economize on decal paper...

Testing the Aeroflot 2000 style soviet tail flag… print looks fine, I just think it does not match that 73 scheme well… maybe if there was some fictional flag pole it would be better

pained the prop mostly by hand, drilled a .7mm center hole for the pin 

ruined the upper left blade by touching it with a finger covered in solvent... already fixed but not as nice as originally. 

 

still needs propping up (as there isnt an obvious note to put weights in the nose) so it is still very tail heavy... 

Missing the 2nd engines' prop, as I didnt assemble it with a spinner missing from my kit 🙁.

Also seeing the air intake below, it has a little of center split in reality, I think I want to recreate that with some strip styrene... 

This (at the scalpel tip) is the part for the spinner that seems to have been missing from the sprue... should be simple enough to make from scratch...

The TU 16 K (Trumpeter kit), which will go together in remembrance of the disaster 

Added a small part of strips styrene into the turboprop air intake as the original seems to have an off-center separator in there, which is not in the a model kit 

On the other side as well, in reality, it is a little bit more curved and smooth, but in this scale, I didnt manage it any better 

 

 

Only windows are missing now.

Meanwhile they have been filled with clear UV-curing resin.
