An 24RV with self made Decals
January 29, 2025The AeroSvit/CS Airforce kit, will try to make the AFL811 plane in Soviet Aeroflot's 1973 livery
January 29, 2025Basic shapes with lots of putty and filler base before adding transparent glazing.
January 29, 2025After adding the glazing using the KV masks.
January 29, 2025Preliminary blue band (wrong design!) but to get the placement of windows.
January 29, 2025Measurement tests on transparent foil
January 29, 2025Measurement tests on transparent foil; as you can see cargo door is 1.5-2mm too large... (was design V2)
January 29, 2025Printing on transfer foil and secured with enamel clear varnish.
January 29, 2025After transfer of the cheatline - note many scratches in the unprotected acrylic gray (Valejo Air Model)... luckily the real AFL An-24s were pretty beat up as well!
January 29, 2025At scalpel tip there are An-24RV Labels (font is 2.5pt=0.88mm) and the outline inversion white !'s
January 29, 2025Cheatline design Version 4, as has been applied to model
January 29, 2025Some wrinkles in cheatline, will be gone after MicroSet
January 29, 2025Basic Scheme before outline inversion.
January 29, 2025Some fictional 2000s style Aeroflot livery Soviet flag is also included... for another project
January 29, 2025Miss-measured anti-glare black. The missing 3mm will be filled with scratch parts
January 29, 2025Demo print on photo paper - the black is printed in white on transfer paper
January 29, 2025Placed the little white ! For the inverted outlines at doors. White toner looks good.
January 29, 2025Design in Illustrator - a lot is repeating and not very compact... but as it is experimentation for myself, i dont need to economize on decal paper...
January 30, 2025Tiny white print before MicroSet
January 31, 2025Testing the Aeroflot 2000 style soviet tail flag… print looks fine, I just think it does not match that 73 scheme well… maybe if there was some fictional flag pole it would be better
January 31, 2025
January 31, 2025Masking for the metallic anti ice surfaces
January 31, 2025
January 31, 2025Metallic Inlet coverof the turboprop AI24
January 31, 2025After clear coat
January 31, 2025Placing the correct flags on the stabilizer
January 31, 2025After wedding of the aircraft with the engine naceles
January 31, 2025The cockpit emergency escape hatch will be closed soon

February 3, 2025
February 3, 2025
February 3, 2025pained the prop mostly by hand, drilled a .7mm center hole for the pin
February 3, 2025ruined the upper left blade by touching it with a finger covered in solvent... already fixed but not as nice as originally.
February 3, 2025
February 3, 2025still needs propping up (as there isnt an obvious note to put weights in the nose) so it is still very tail heavy...
February 3, 2025Missing the 2nd engines' prop, as I didnt assemble it with a spinner missing from my kit 🙁.
Also seeing the air intake below, it has a little of center split in reality, I think I want to recreate that with some strip styrene...
February 3, 2025This (at the scalpel tip) is the part for the spinner that seems to have been missing from the sprue... should be simple enough to make from scratch...
February 8, 2025Shaping the new spinner
February 8, 2025Now sanding for shortening it to get it to spec
February 8, 2025Negative shape has a little bit tricky
February 10, 2025Painted spinner
February 10, 2025The TU 16 K (Trumpeter kit), which will go together in remembrance of the disaster
February 10, 2025Added a small part of strips styrene into the turboprop air intake as the original seems to have an off-center separator in there, which is not in the a model kit
February 10, 2025On the other side as well, in reality, it is a little bit more curved and smooth, but in this scale, I didnt manage it any better
February 10, 2025
February 10, 2025
February 10, 2025Only windows are missing now.
Meanwhile they have been filled with clear UV-curing resin.
April 12, 2025Finished model.
