Airfix Austin K2/Y Ambulance

Airfix 1/35 kit boxart. 

The chassis assembled beautifully. No flash and everything fit perfectly.  

Painting the wheels.  

The tyres are painted with Tamiya XF-85 rubber black. The hubs were painted first and then liquid masked.  

Starting on the body.  

The only problems I encountered were with the fit of the front of the body and I think it was my fault.  

Satisfying detail in the back of the ambulance. 

Roof fitted.

Gloss varnished with Tamiya X-22 ready for decals.  

Decals applied and minor details painted. Ready for a coat of matt clear and some light desert weathering and it will be done.
