This was the first injection moulded model of a VR wagon (truck) by any manufacturer, as there were 17000 GY wagons of varying sorts the GY was an obvious choice. The model lacked break gear and shunters steps which were supplied in a separate kit. The moulds were in used until 2010 when they were retired.
